I need to be more careful planning our route. Komoot is the planning tool that I use, and it seems to work out most of the time. It gives all of the statistics for the planned ride including elevation gain and loss, way type, and surface. Today I learned an important lesson. Pay attention to these.

I thought perhaps I had listed mountain biking as our activity, a lot of the route was on trails. We had one section that was overgrown singletrack mud. Another was an old road that was routed up by some kind of animal, we thought perhaps wild boar. Not too much distance today, but exhausting!

Lesson learned, moving on.

We’re camped on a beautiful little lake in Camping Le Parc du Gue. Very peaceful and the locals are curious.
